Another vote for uni. I use the double uni for almost every, except on braid. It’s a slip, not really a knot, so it’s not likely to break, as compared to other knots…If you can’t get a double line through the eye, just do a single uni..

Trilene is what I was taught as a kid for straight to eye and I haven’t found a great reason to ever stop using it, but there are a half dozen good ones that won’t ever slip if tied properly. Wet the line with any knot before you cinch it down, you could be burning not slipping.

What jigheads and line are you using? Maybe switch brands. I haven't found anything better than Palomar.

Meh, palomar is always listed in best knots for fishing.

Anyway, I use uni for nearly everything.

Uni is a better knot. i use it for all my braid and lighter mono up to 60-80# but the knots get big. above 80 you need to crimp. and mono 60-80 and above to hook, you need to snell it.

IDK why you are being a tool, when you admit you dont even use the palomar.

Per your own list palomar is near the top and easy as hell to tie. I’m not sure what your point is other than to be pedantic. If any knot is routinely failing, it was tied wrong.

MY POINT? all i said was there were better knots and i was questioned. and near the top? there are 7 better.

I dont use it, he does use it, so im wondering why he is questioning my factual statement.

7 that are “better” by a marginal increase in some metric that’s likely highly dependent on line class and type. Over half the list implies that the yield strength of the knot is greater than the line rating, so if tied properly it doesn’t make a bit of difference. You’re arguing to argue and show you know some obscure YouTube knots.

and it is only "better" buy a marginal increase over the other 10.

this chart is the average of the break tests on mono, flouro, and braid.

How was I being a tool? Dude, you actually bring value to the board at times, then others, you get the board equivalent of road rage. Calm down and discuss thing on a discussion board.

Not sure about charts and tests etc as I have tried them all. Palomar never comes loose and never breaks for what I'm doing. Other knots I have used will slip. Talking 15-20lb fluoro leaders specifically.

Must be a really small hook or some major line. I’ve used polymer knot for errthing included micro bream hooks.
