Anyone use this, looking to destroy some crabgrass and heard its the GOAT? Also, if anyone wants to part with a few ounces, I'd be appreciative. They only sell it in huge quantities apparently.

Is this crabgrass?

Depends on what type of grass you are trying to grow. I used MSMA for Bermuda grass to grow. It will kill St Aug and centipede I think. 1 ounce per gallon.

Quinclorac can be bought cheaper and in smaller quantities as a DF.

I've heard where certain states have actually banned the use of MSMA from residential lawn use (I guess by lawn service) as I assume a private citizen can still get it? Reading what I saw it was because the "A" in MSMA is a form of arsenic?

My question is...is it really that good for post emergent crabgrass in a Bermuda/hybrid Bermuda lawn? I've also seen Quinchlorac (sp??) mentioned as it was here. I believe they sell that at Tractor Supply.

To the OP: Thanks for starting this thread. Hoping for some good information on it.

Yes it’s really that good on crabgrass. Causes temporary yellowing to Bermuda but within a week it comes back strong and crabgrass is toast

So it's a spot treatment application?

It can be a spot spray but most use it on whole yard, ball field, etc

I carpet spray the whole yard. Wait 3 days then hit it with 1 more application. A week and a half later it looks great.

I love it up in N. Alabama but we have bats to keep the mosquitoes under control. I remember officiating some HS football in SWLA and the Bermuda fields there always seemed to breed mosquitoes.

Problem with that is you aren't supposed to use it on bermuda when temps get over 85, which is exactly when crabgrass starts to come out.

I don't know a whole lot about lawn management, I'm about three years in and still trying to learn. I bought a jug of MSMA from my local co-op about three years ago. Best I can remember, it was about $100 for a 2.5 gallon jug, but like another poster said, it's like 1-1.5oz per gallon so it'll last. And it works.
