Mounting TV on Stone

Anyone have tips and best mounts to use when mounting 55” TV on stacked ledge stone? Main issue is how uneven the stone is so getting the mount level and secure is my main issue
Or should I just sat frick it and pay a professional? Got a quote for $145 using my existing wall mount. No idea if that is a fair price or not

You may be able to just use brick anchors to screw it in place but you'd need to make sure you have a large enough brick to place the anchor. And you need a hammer drill to drill the holes out in the bricks.

Do you have a hammer drill?
If so you can easily go into the stone with a carbide drill bit that comes with concrete anchors or rock anchors.

Regular brick anchors. Done it in large stone using said anchors. Was holding strong for 7 years when we sold the house.

It might help to have a large mounting plate on the bracket to allow you to shim if needed.

quote for $145
Does that include running wires? If so that is a no brainer.

Lead brick anchors get it close to square they should have some adjustment slots on the bracket to the tv so you can get it square

These are just stone veneers so they’re only 2” thick and I measured where the existing studs are so I am not worried about that part just more about getting the mount as flush a possible due the the different ridges on the stones where it’s higher on one side than the other. Maybe some kind of a spacer to keep it even?
Thanks for all the advice guys

Real picture
Wires already there I previously had a TV here in the studs on drywall. We did stone veneers floor to ceiling and wanted to put TV back. It’s just a very uneven surface

I’m currently in this same boat and got nervous messing with the stone so I think I’m going to install a ceiling mount instead. I’m buying a house with a stone fireplace and really don’t want to mess it up

That’s where I am at. If it wasn’t 2 stories I’d get a ceiling mount

How hard is it to remove the stone where you need the bolts for mounting? I’m guessing they are mortared? You could remove the stone and not put it back behind the tv where you put lag bolts into the studs.
That’s one option.
If you don’t have a hammer drill you can rent one for like $50/ day or borrow one. But at that point you may as well pay to have it done. If they will do it right...

find the studs, get a conecrete bit and hammer drill. Drill stone but until you hit the stud. Hang mount with lag bolts and use washers between the mount and stone to get it spaced right.
Should have done what I'm doing for our remodel that starts tomorrow. I'm recessing just the mount and outlets so the tv is flush against the stone. Can always hang a picture over it if we decide to do something else with the TV. But I get my way with the electronics as long as I rearrange all the furniture 40 times until she is happy
