I’m headed to Mountain View for the weekend. I’m looking for any recommendations on some activities.

Quick Google sounds cool with all kinds of activities

Situated within the Ozark National Forest, the Blanchard Springs Recreation Area is a good place to start with any adventure in the Ozarks. The scenic Ozark Mountains are well known for their clear streams, waterfalls, hidden caverns, and rolling hills. The facilities of the recreation area are located near crystal clear streams and picturesque rock bluffs, and the various sites are shaded well by stately pine trees. Mirror Lake offers excellent opportunities for trout fishing, and other recreational activities can be found here as well, such as swimming, hiking, and mountain biking. The campgrounds on site provide various types of campsites.

people up there are real big into campfires but they do them all weird...the campfires are in the shape of crosses and they wear weird ceremonial looking robes. Strange folks up there.

I've driven thru MV a lot of times; I think they have good trout fishing.

I think Basscat boat is in Mountain View. I hear they are good people and give tours. Seeing the boat building process would be pretty neat.

Great trout fishing. Use shrimp but do not touch the bait with your hands if you’ve been in contact with sunscreen.

Blanchard Springs Caverns
“Uncle” Jimmy Driftwood (Battle of New Orleans) music barn.
Trout Fishing
Hunt for the hidden, end of times, continuation of government bunkers tucked in the hillsides. (Not kidding)

In the caves you'll touch the same handrail and single lone stalagmite that I touched way back then. (they only allow people to touch the one since the oils on hands prevent "growth" and the system inside the caves is still alive and well). The pile of batshit behind the tour guide speaker in the natural auditorium is quite impressive too.

A lot depends on if it is just you or will you be with wife, kids etc. I'll be about 30 minutes away but I'll be having less fun doing a controlled burn.
Blanchard springs caverns, fun for all ages. You can also walk to the spring, recommended, or catch small trout in mirror lake.
If you want a guide for bigger trout drive down to Jack's, the original Jack was a friend of my grandfathers. When Jack was starting up he used to call our guide service and find out what to expect for river conditions.
If you have kids who like to fish its worth the run over to the norfork hatchery and let them try dry run creek. Best chance to catch a giant trout out there. The miracle mile below norfork dam is truly an awesome place to fish for adults as well.
I don't know if they have started music on the town square yet but if you want to hear old bluegrass music played by a bunch of amateurs its kind of neat.
Ozark folk center is fun for small kids and if you are into seeing how things were done on homesteads it is pretty neat for adults. Check out the copper flame painting if you go.
Lots of hiking
Avoid the restaurant that is supposed to look like a biker bar for people who have never seen a biker bar. A lot of food poisoning comes out of that place.

Lots of old time and bluegrass pickers at Mountain View. If it's nice weather, they'll be jamming around the town square and maybe some live performance shows at the Folk Center. Take your instrument if you're a picker!
