Mice getting in under siding by foundation

We have been seeing mice in our house and could never find where they were getting in. We finally called a pest control company to take a look and he told us that they were probably getting in under our siding where it meets the foundation. He said that they were going to have to use concrete anchors to tack the siding down so they couldn't get in like that anymore. He called with a quote the next day to do the whole back of our house, but we know that they are only getting in on one side. Anyway he still hasn't called back or returned my calls with the quote to do the partial part and it's been a week.
Which leads me to my question does anyone know what he is talking about doing? My husband thinks that maybe we can do it on our own, but we can't find pictures or anything to know what the man was talking about. I just want this problem fixed.
TIA

No a brick house. It's brick everywhere except across the back and right by our front door.

Like others have said, foam spray. Even still, if you're having mice in this heat you must have either a great water or food source bringing them to you. I would look into/eliminate that too.

The exterminator said that the mice will chew through it because they have already left their scent and they will chew through that to get into the house. Plus he was only able to really find one crack right there and it was really small and he said that there are probably others and to just tack the siding down so they can't get up in there. So we were just wondering how we could do that ourselves since he still hasn't called us back.

We only see the droppings around our kitchen and that's the area of the siding they think they are coming in from. Our dog's food in in a large Tupperware container and all of our other food is in containers or sealed bags. We don't see any droppings in the pantry but we see them under our sink. We've checked our sink and it isn't leaking or anything like that. I'm just ready to get them out.

Put steel wool in the crack if it is where water wont get to it. They wont chew through that.

And put sticky traps where you know they run. Sticky traps with some peanut butter is hard to resist...

Yeah we've found these work the best. We would catch them and then think we have gotten them all but we would find evidence of more. So we knew we had a problem with them getting in somewhere we couldn't see. But sticky traps are the way to go.
