Just be careful on what you wish.
Your boat is way fast enough now.

Speaking of boats, where is a good place to look to buy a used boat? Sportsman website is always having fake ads in teh classifieds. I don't really want to buy a new one because I won't be able to use it enough to justify it. Looking for a used bass boat.

Would have loved to try this on my stroker. Jsmoke, whats your boat weigh? With the way its worded and the pic of the allison, bullet, and flats boats, I was thinking its for hulls around 1200 lbs.

Well the problem that I have had with my previous props is maintaining that speed. I can run 70 mph with a 26p bravo 1 xs but those props are very thin & you will wear the cupping off of them very quickly running in skinny water (marsh). The hole shot is amazing as well as acceleration & top end but I put a brand new bravo 1 xs on my boat last year & wore the cupping off in 4 days. Dropped from 70 to 64. I did a little research & found out that the 27p bravo 1 xs is actually the same exact prop as the 26p, it just has more cupping. They both come out of the same mold. So I got a 27p & I get the same top end speed but less hole shot.
I did more digging & ended up buying a Turbo TXP OT4 24p prop. Much thicker blades, holds up way better in the marsh. Running 68 with it & hole shot is great but i still lost top end over the bravo xs.
Mercury has been working on this pro max prop for the last 18 months & it's supposed to be a much beefier prop that will not tear up when running in skinny water & still have the performance of the bravo 1 xs.
Looking forward to running mid 70's with this thing.

Nice. I never had any problem with losing cupping and never heard it mentioned from my padnuhs that fish down there a lot. Thats interesting. My bravo would push me to 96 loaded to fish with the seats up and everything the day I put it on and the same thing the day I sold it.

Well which bravo are you referring to?
The Bravo 1: LINK
or
The Bravo 1 XS: LINK
(This is a Mercury Racing prop)
There is a big difference between these 2 props. I run a 26p xs but a 24p regular bravo 1. The blades on the bravo 1 xs are a lot thinner & that is why they wear out so fast when you run them in shallow water.

1 XS. Not a better prop out there in my book for carrying a load. They have a ton of stern lift.

What size do you think you need?

Also, have you looked at the champion owner board on BBC? Its a good place to start ( i know your not starting though). They will have setup listed with what prop and speeds.

yea i've been playing with it, think i need a 25p, been running a 26p but i lose 200 rpms with a full tourny load, i used to run a 25p on my old champ, just need to try it...i've been on that board quite a bit

When I first got my boat I had a 24p bravo 1, when I changed to the xs pro I went up to a 26. If you are running a 25p prop now, you may actually need a 26p or 27p if you are gonna run a bravo 1 xs. I have a brand new 27p bravo 1 xs at my house if you wanna get together & try it out 1 day. I will probably sell it as soon as I can get a pro max prop.

Im anxious to see what the Pro max does. Jsmoke, im not familiar with it, so this might be a dumb question, but if its a thicker blade, what makes you think it will out preform the 1xs? I could see something close to preformance and lasting longer with your problems your having witht the cup, but why more speed? All I know is what youve said or I read on that link so sorry if its obvious.

i think my problem is i'm running a slightly larger prop than i need to be. I get great performance when i'm alone with my gear with the 26p tempest plus, but when i add another person and their gear i lose about 200 rpm, give or take, i think that little bit extra load is too much for that 225 and the 26p...i ran a 25p trophy on my old boat (champion) without a problem so i'm thinking i need to do the same here
if i try the bravo 1xs i guess i need to try the same size i'm running now it looks like

Watch those props. I snapped off two shafts due to them. Last one broke off in 75' of water.
