Max Gain Systems DIY Shallow Water Anchor

Anyone make their own shallow water anchor using the Max Gain Systems parts? If so how's it working for you?
I ordered the 8 ft., 3/4" OD pole and handle and waiting for it to come in. I plan to just sand the tip down to a point instead of adding a steel tip.
The price for these items was much much cheaper than the pre-made anchor pins available in the market, but shipping was the same price as the parts
TIA

Thanks for the info. Same basic thing. How's it hold? Do you use a mount to slide it through or stick it and tie off?

I put 2 Power Pole Micros on my duck / jon boat and never looked back. They ain't cheap but they work as well as a power pole and they hold my 1860 Jon Boat fine in the Columbia River rocks where current is for real! I don't know how they would hold up in the salt though....probably fine I just haven't tried them. I know a freshwater trolling motor wont last more than a couple of years....

i used it for a while.. the poles are cheap but once you start added the stainless steel connections and crap it got fairly expensive.
I got an 8 ft pole with the SS tip and a SS female end at the top. I had a handle with the SS male. I also purchased a 2 ft and 4ft pole and both had SS female ends. With that I had an 8ft, 10ft, and 12ft options. I had my dad weld a bracket up that I bolted to the back my xpress. Never used the 12ft but I used the 10ft a good bit.

I've got the same one with a simple plastic T handle on it. Works great for my 14' flat boat. Probably 6-7yrs old now.

i have a 556 Havoc and had spud holes built in front and rear, and it holds great. thats how ive used mine. i think under most circumstances it would hold good tied to as well

I make a few different mounts for Cajun anchors. On the motor, jack plate, screwed to the transom or deck, etc.

I saw those for sale on ebay. They intrigue me. I'm waiting for an answer on my warranty question from my local Ranger dealer to decide if I'm putting a jack plate or not. Then I'll worry about adding a mount.

My business is called Halk Marine and I build these in Covington. If you don’t do the jack plate, I make versions that bold straight on the motor bolts or on the transom or deck.
