I can't really find a report anywhere, but I'm going to take the kayak out tomorrow and would like to put a red or two on ice. It's still warm, but that time of year is right around the corner for them. I'm in SE Louisiana if it helps.

I meant to write a report from last weekend but yeah they're all over hopedale right now. Going to be a weird weekend, if I could go tomorrow I'd feel more comfortable. Sunday the tide will start to fall late and fall hard and I just don't like it when the tide is screaming.

Just do what you do for reds, find shallow ponds and bait.

We went out of Shell Beach Monday in the marsh and caught a handful of smaller specs and a few nice size reds (21”+)

Catching eating size keepers? Most everything I’ve seen hitting the table at BridgeSide the past several weekends have been bulls (which gets my goat, given their value and questionable table quality)

Yeah 22-26 inches mostly
Last 2 weekends have been on fire. I’m in a yak though don’t have any boats where I’m going
Last weekend I caught my 5 and threw back another 5 or so pretty quickly. Was back at the camp in time for Lsu game

A few bonus trout. But I suspect tomorrow I’ll catch a few more with the cooler weather in the morning I think they are moving inside

Awesome! My usual fishing buddy is a bigtime yakker and just bought a new one for his wife that I’m looking forward to trying out. Brand new to me, but he brought his down a couple of weekends ago and let the gf and I test drive it down by the WLF camp. Sounds like I’ll be developing another habit that costs money.

We are down at BridgeSide most weekends, I’ll keep an ear open for how you’re doing.

Was good this morning
3 reds and 17 keeper specks (probably 40 11inch ones)
All on top water which is awesome
Trout are definitely inside. No big ones yet but tons of 11-13 inches

That's a damn good day! I swerved last minute and ended up at Shell Beach. 3 keeper reds, no specks, a few rat reds also. Wish I would have had some cracked crab.

I fished Saturday in Hopedale. 30 keeper trout and probably caught over a 100. Most are small males as the bigger females i don't think have made it in. i found them in a 14-20 foot hole with shallow water around. fished limbo slice and lemonhead matrix shad on the bottom with a slow slow retrieve. barely reel in and when they bump it just stop till you think they took it. bull reds also swimming around and you'll catch a couple of them with popping corks.

Fished this weekend in Laffite. Didn't catch one red under 30 inches. Trout was hit or miss.

Fished Delacroix this weekend and had a big day. Lot of 12" white trout. Kept 32 specks, all around 12"-13". Marsh is full of shrimp right now. Find the shrimp, find the fish.
