Yep, pretty much what was said. He said that if the invites were to truly get the best anglers and the most viewers, then there's no way to justify not inviting guys like Thrift, Scott Martin, and Carl Jocumsen.

I can kinda see his point. I mean fricking Biffle, Grigsby and Davis? They have zero redeeming qualities and haven't done shite in a very long time.

If they were truly going after the best of the best, Bossier would’ve gotten an invite. Amirite?

Sheeeit! Then they would not have been able to fill the other 79 spots.

I'll help him make his point. I have never heard of any of these guys.

To me MLF fits the made for tv angle... its good TV... but it won't make for near the live show that BASS does ... or FLW for that matter....

Nothing MLF does will ever match the Bassmaster Classic in terms of the show they put on and the mistique around it.

Now that would be a good video watching them slap around.

I got it running 84 with 2 people tourney loaded but hole shot sucks with that prop. I put the Bravo back on, it runs 81 with the same load on the limiter but is a rocket out the hole.

if 84 is all you got I know at least two Bass Cat's in South Arkansas you had better not F with

You'd smoke me.... but I'm pretty happy with getting 70.1 out of a 150 pro XS.

You've never heard of the three guys listed, or the BPT field?

I could see people not knowing who Carl Jocumsen is. He came from Australia, qualified for the elites, but only lasted two years. He had a couple of good finishes, but was mostly known for being a bass angler from Australia. He fishes the FLW now, but he has a MASSIVE following from Australia.

Bryan Thrift has been one of the most dominant fisherman over the last 12+ years, he is almost a lock to finish in the top 5 of AOY on the FLW tour every year. He is widely considered the #1 fisherman in the world right now, and Bassfan actually has him ranked #1.

Scott Martin is Roland Martin's son, but is another one that is in the running for AOY every year on FLW. He also has a Forrest Wood cup championship, his own Youtube series, and a really big following on social media.

I'm on record saying I'm a fan of a big fish format but as far as live, MLF should be much more entertaining. Key word is should. Between 40 anglers there will never be more than a minute or two here and there without a catch, but they'll need an entire team cutting between feeds and editing.

I agree with this, and thats what I don't like about it. The Classic is a trip I take with my Dad and Brother every year, and all living in different states its a nice annual get together, sadly I see that coming to an end after Knoxville. I don't see how the BPT format will ever work for a live weigh-in at all.

MLF (BPT) doesn't care about weigh-ins, they care about what someone is wiling to watch on TV. The MLF format is more entertaining to a fan because there is real time information and drama heading to the finish line (like every other sport on TV). I think they are trying to model this after golf with the hope of one day having the final few hours of a major fishing tournament live on TV. I don't know that it will ever get there, but it has a better shot than current BASS weigh-in style tournaments.

all of the pros got their start through the circuit...
they have to catch the 5 largest fish each day to beat the field...
that's how they got name recognition...consistently finding the best fish and winning events..
they're going to have to have a circuit set up to feed the MLF with pros with name recognition...
I do like to watch MFL...but the guy that can break down the water and find the good fish is what I like to see and learn from...
