Hey guys - I have a two-night trip out to the lump next weekend. Any insight on the weather or links where I can watch? Hopefully will be a great time!

We are leaving next Friday on the 21st from Dauphin island. Just trying to figure out if we are going to have a good trip or not.

Like I said a little late for lump if looking for tunas. Would prob be better off stopping at ram Powell or Horn mountain. Good news is you’ll prob cross a rip at some point.

Never know, definitely won’t catch em from the couch though.

way too late. The original guys that did it out of gulfport would start at new years.

I think it's a little late for the Lump, I'm fishing with Eddie next Wednesday and Thursday. I'll try and get a report posted by Thursday evening. This is a rescheduled trip from mid March that the weather did not cooperate.

Weather Links: I find winderfinder.com to be one of the more accurate.

What's the best time of year to book a tuna trip out of Venice? Late winter/early spring?

Depends on what you want to catch. Tuna can be caught every month of the year. They tend to run bigger in size November thru March but have more numbers and smaller fish throughout the summer. Weather in the winter is very sketchy and they can't fish more days than they can due to the weather. Historically speaking August has always been a good month for me due to more predictable weather patterns and good numbers of fish. It is fishing though so pick some dates off the calendar when you can go and hope for the best.

Wind hasn’t stopped blowing for 2 months at least! Good luck!
