That was my first time using it with boston butts. I probably could have taken them off a little sooner. It's really nice for get togethers though, as far as being low maintenance while visiting with company. Like was said earlier. Put the meat in. Put charcoal on the top and around the outside, light and go get it when it's done.

No doubt my man.
And Alahunter, you can get that bark by letting it go a little longer. Not quite as good as the bark of a traditional smoker but you'll get some. At least I did.

I'll try that next time. May get a 5 lb BB roast tomorrow evening.
And you're right about poultry, it falls apart if you don't tie them up. I did a turkey a year or so ago and it looked like it exploded by the time I finally got it all out.
I did three chickens in it too once. Figured I'd use different rubs on each one. They turned out pretty good too, and took just a little over 1hr 15. The lowest rack took just a bit longer.

I sell a bunch of smokers and grills. The one I sell the most of is the BGE. That said, the Orion and Traegers both have their cult followings as well. There are so many good choices out there but in the end, it's what you want to do with it. If you need high heat and the ability to go low and slow, I'd go BGE. Hard to do both 750 and 225 with the same cooker and keep constant temps on one batch of coals for 12 hours. Orions are fast and keep meats super moist. Traegers do a great job of constant temps for long periods of time. Good luck!

If you have some skin left over after a whole hog smoke throw it in some oil
Cut up skin.
Fresh out of the oil.

Just pulled these out a few minutes ago and at the top of the second picture you can see my daughters hand reaching into the pan before I even start to take the picture.

I've used one. They are good. And I couldn't believe how little charcoal it used.
