Trying to decide to go with thinsulate or not. Thinsulate is a little more expensive, worried they may be a little too warm for year round use. Anyone know?

PS free shipping and 20% off right now.

I went with non-thinsulate and wish I didn't. Mine aren't very comfortable at all and I would think that thinsulate would be comfy. Just buy 1 of each. One for winter and one for non-winter.

The unlined ones are good for about 3" of water, they leak at the seam, mine do anyways.

I have some LL beans that are 25+ years old and are just now starting to get worn our. I no longer buy any insulated footwear, as we get way too much hot weather here and I always find my feet sweating in anything with insulation.

I think beans run large, so just put on some insulated socks when needed.

Not mine, my newest pair are worse than my older pair. Btw, I case you dudes didn't know, once you wear the rubbers out you can mail them to llbean and they'll replace the rubbers for a nominal fee, that is if the leathers are worth keeping. Keep the leathers in sno seal, etc. nice boots.

If you Sno Seal the seam, they will never leak. I have the non insulated version. It is my 2nd pair. The weather here makes me wear them more as rain boots than anything else, so the insulated version doesn't make sense to me, but to each their own. They will repair them once you wear out the sole. Didn't know this until I threw away my old pair (dumb). Just remember, order a size smaller than you normally wear. They run BIG. Enjoy.

good to know.

I just looked at them and was shocked at the prices. $150 for rubber shoes is a bit steep.

I really liked Cabelas boots that where the same style. Pull-on 8" boots for $50 were awesome. Don't know why they discontinued them....

I love mine and wear them a lot ( uninsulated and wear thick socks when needed). Good investment in a product that is very well made and has a lifetime guarantee

What's your budget? For a little bit more money you can get a pair of Schnee's. It's a better boot.
