She dropped her jeans and mooned our team's players and the umps. This ain't the Little League I played in 60 years ago, for sure.

1991 I had an assistant T-ball, I repeat, T-BALL, assistant coach get barred from the complex for pulling a pocket knife on an umpire and threatening to "cut his head off like a catfish"

Man, those were the days...None of this vulgar mooning of the field.

Gotcha so out of all the collisions that take place a star player gets his ACL blown out because he was blocking the plate cost the team money and so MLB changes the rules…again I’ll stick by my statement don’t block the plate and you won’t get trucked…

I believe the actual rule now that has been in place for a while is catchers are not allowed to block the plate...at all...even with a play at the plate.

But, if they are, the runner is still supposed to avoid contact and the runner is safe regardless of if he reaches home before being tagged or not.

But then that puts it up to the umpire and their judgement of whether or not the catcher was "blocking the plate". Thats when parents get riled up.

I have a friend who used to coach baseball and he now is a umpire. The stories he can tell are amazing. He tells me they are struggling to get umpires and not many people want to put up with the drama.

I also have a student who refs soccer games and even though she is still in high school she was paid 75$ a game because they had a hard time getting refs.

Found out at last night's game that the Mom was also charged with simple possession. Dad charge upgraded to include simple possession and possession of a handgun.

When you say plays that can be avoided…how is it avoidable? Is the runner automatically called safe because the catcher was blocking the plate so you can’t slide through him…you could possibly jump over him but that’s a pretty sure fire way to get hurt or you go with how baseball is supposed to be played and you truck him. I get what you’re saying they’re kids but we all out when we were kids and that was part of the game changing the rules making these kids soft isn’t helping them at all. Same thing with a 3rd dropped strike if he’s running down the baseline we were taught go ahead and drill him in the back to get the easy out and teach him a lesson at the same time. I promise you it didn’t take me but one time to take a ball to the spine to learn that second line going down the first base side is for me.
