I have 2, 36v Power House lithiums in parallel on my 25foot CC and absolutely love them.

Was this cheaper than going with one larger system?

Oh wait, I recall now. The max draw on my motor was 56 and the brand I was looking at jumped from 50 to 100 with nothing in between.

Also, I fish exclusively salt, water, so more juice isn’t bad battling the current I guess

Well for one you get 100% output until it dies.

I have a 100 for my kayak. Used to have a lead 36. The 100 is lighter and have used it for an entire weekend in rivers and was still go sunday night. Charge time is also quicker.

Any updates on this? Is there any difference between 3 50ah 12v and one 36v 100ah ?

ETA: I meant 100ah vs 100ah, not 50.

AH will be doubled. Not stronger voltage but lengthened output.

So I’ll get longer run times going with three 12v 100ah vs one 36v 100ah? I’m confused by this

No... You originally had 50AH vs 100AH. 100AH would effectively be double the run time as it has double AH to expend.

The difference between 3x12v 100AH vs single 36V 100AH would likely be dimensions and weight. Both would have same voltage and AH. The 3x12v system would allow you to replace a single 12v battery at a time should something go wrong with the batter. Single 36v battery you'd have to replace the whole thing which would be more costly.

If it were me i'd probably go with the single battery. Less connections and charge leads to deal with. I think they're all pretty reliable these days.

You also need different chargers and they aren't cheap. It looks like you need a 36V charger to charge a 36V and you need a charger that can do 3, 12V for that situation.

I'm looking into it now, but it seems like going cheap with 3 12v is both cheaper and possibly less risky as I can replace one battery in 2-3 years if I have an issue instead of a 36v potential issue knocking me out completely?

I upgraded to the Minn Kota PC when ordering my boat. It charges lithium batteries on the AGM setting perfectly.

Gotcha. What’s the going rate for a 36v 100ah setup? For those who already have lithium, is 50 enough or do you recommend 100Ah?

Absolutely, but it was designed also for 12v systems right? What I mean is that if you upgrade to the 36v single battery many people will need a new charger that's designed for 36v as most 3-12v chargers are not?

Absolutely.
