Picked up a Mossberg 500 today and it has a rail system on it. I'm using it mainly for home defense and would like to put a light on it. My main concern is finding a light that can handle the recoil from a 12 gauge shotgun. I'd like to try to keep it under $100. TIA for suggestions.

I have a Streamlight TLR1s on my home defense Beretta pistol and am very satisfied with it. Good output, good quality, and decent battery life.

Your main concern should be pointing your gun at everything you shine the light on. To each his own though. Lots of people will say it doesnt matter if you have your finger off the trigger but I still dont like the idea of my 12 guage pointed at my 5 yr old that got out of bed to get water and made some noise. Just an example, I am not that jumpy.
