got busted hunting over corn last year in Mississippi
Was it piled up/in a feeder or just spread around?

There was a mighty fine lady checking catches at bridge side last friday. She had on a LDWF shirt on and a large knife in a sheath on her side.

Was she a bioligist? I've seen a few nice looking ones over the years.

Game warden hung around our place 2 years ago for a while trying to catch some poachers that had been going around. Everybody in the club puts corn out during the season, so the president asked him about it. He said as long as it's 100 yds or more from the stand and he can't see it. So just throw it around and spread it out so it's not piled up.

In a rush, I shot the wrong deer in TX that had less than a 13" spread one year. Called the game warden who said my fine would be cut in half ($300 to $150)since I self reported (a prearranged agreement). After we loaded the animal in his truck he said, "Oh, by the way, there is a game restitution fine you'll be recieving in the mail, it's about $800". Total bill ended up $550.

Our club policy is now: shoot, measure, and release if too small.

I wish they would check more people around where we hunt. Might cut down the outlaws.

i hunt in woodville and the game wardens are much tighter on the corn. they dont want you within a mile of it. When i was just getting into bow hunting at about 14 yrs old, i used to corn at our club when no one else would and it was amazing how many more deer you would see and kill

I like to try to pattern how the deer move through the terrain and set up next to the bottlenecks of the game trails, I really don't like hunting over corn. But that's what they always did before we got in the club, and everyone else does it, so you almost won't see deer (or you'll see a lot less does) unless you put feed out by the stand. I don't like it but that's the way it is.

That was the only time since i've been there in 7 years that there has been a game warden on our lease FWIW

Last season, I had 2 at the gate to our property trying to get in when I was leaving after a morning hunt. They only wanted to get in to look at the old church we have on the property, but I was still intimidated. I let them in and told them I would lock the gate back when I came back in that afternoon. Nice fellas. They didn't check me.
