Check out the 13 reels. I think that’ll be my next. It’ll be the first non-Shimano reel I buy in a long time.

I've heard good things about the 13 fishing reels. Their bargain reel, the inception, is junk. Very cheaply made. The concept A and concept C are solid reels, but they're above the $150 price range. You can get a Lews Tournament MB for about $130. It's a great reel. Also the Revo SX retails for $160, but you can find it for cheaper if you look hard enough.

Keeping an eye on the water level in Henderson. It's starting to come back up. Where I fish this weekend will depend on the water level. If it stays low enough I'm gonna probably take my kayak out to the pits on Saturday. If not, I may go back to Two O'clock. Or maybe Little Alabama. Been wanting to go back there.
I think Lake Martin will be out of the question. I don't wanna get shot.
Probably limited to the kayak. Which, I don't mind.

Was just informed that there's a Jr Bassmasters tournament in Henderson this weekend. Estimated to have 80-90 boats. With the water being low, they won't really be able to spread out much. Gonna be fishing on top each other. Looks like I'm avoiding Henderson this weekend.

What day is that front gonna come through? Saturday? Better get to 2 O'Clock Bayou before it comes
Next weekend some buddies and I may be going camping in either Indian Bayou or Sherburne to deer hunt. I'll probably bring my boat and go fish while they deer hunt.

Saturday night. And yes, I'll be heading to Two O'clock on Saturday unless something comes up.

No problem. As long as my motor isnt acting funny like last weekend. I didn't get a chance to take it back out after that. We may have to paddle ourselves

Another Two O'clock Bayou video
Even though the wind kicked my arse and caused some equipment damage, I still had a pretty good trip. I got pushed into a tree that ended up snapping one of my rods.
Also got pushed into some stumps that caught my transducer arm. Before I could do anything to try to get off of it, it grabbed my transducer arm and snapped it off the ram mount.
I fought backlashes all day casting in that shite. At one point early in the morning I didn't realize a tree limb was over my head. Went to cast, bait hit the tree limb....... luckily I had an extra spool of string.
Don't care, went fishing. Caught fish.

Man, I wanted to go, but I stayed up later than I planned on Friday night having some adult beverages, and had to wake up around 3:15am Saturday to get out to the duck blind and finish putting out decoys. I was exhausted. But it sounds like I would have just gotten myself frustrated with that wind.
Glad you at least caught a few while fighting the wind

Even if I would've been in my bass boat that wind would've kicked my arse. After the last trip, I'm seriously considering trying to fish it in my bass boat. I don't think it would be a problem. I figured in the hairy spots I could trim up and navigate through it with my trolling motor. That's just a lot of paddling.

As long as you go slow through there I think it would be fine. Not like you are running 40mph
I still need to take my boat some where I can run it to see if it does like it did last weekend, or if that was some sort of one time thing...

How is the ramp out there for a bass boat? I'd like to try and fish it someday but my towing situation isn't ideal at the moment and steep ramps scare me.
Posted on 11/20/17 at 1:23 pm to NewIberiaHaircut
The ramp out there is pretty good. I'd feel pretty confident in launching my boat there.
Now, don't you dare go over there and do better than me. Cause that might piss me off!
I'm just kidding. Tear em up!

So I'm looking at the Indian Bayou map, and there are "paddle trails" throughout the WMA. The map shows one of the paddle trails going from the I-10 launch up through bayou Fuselier. This leads me to a question:
Obviously you can have a motor powered boat on that particular "paddle Trail". So if you are allowed to take a motor boat along that "paddle trail", can you take a motor boat down the other "paddle trails" throughout the WMA?

I don't see why not. Is there a boat ramp that gives you access to them? I'm not familiar with the paddle trails you are talking about.
WLF has an office in Opelousas. I'd call them and ask if you want clarification
