LA1 bridges at grand isle are being replaced

i just saw this article about road closures on LA1 below fourchon for at least the next 5 months so if you are planning any trips just be aware traffic might be a mess

also i dont know what it means for those who like to fish the bridges on the side of the road? i sure hope they do something with this in mind to be fishermen access friendly at the same time, but then that would require common sense and good planning.

such things are never found from those who make decisions on roads and bridges projects in this state

One lane on LA 1, between Port Fourchon and Grand Isle, will be closed starting Tuesday, November 28, thru May 31, 2018 (during the hurricane off-season).

The closed lane will alternate throughout the construction of three bridges along LA 1. The traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.

One lane will remain open at all times, but motorist should expect minor delays traveling thru the construction sites.
