LA boaters safety course

I have to get my boaters safety card and I’m looking for a course. I’ve been in boats for years just never taken the course, but I am confident I can pass the test without sitting in an 8hr class. Are there any courses where I can pass the test without having to sit thru the class portion?

I did the BoatUS free online course since I’m stuck when wife’s friend/kids come in this weekend (florida)…this is all that’s required for boat rental…

I passed it without doing a class or anything but there are some rules in there you should educate yourself on first. I was ignorant of the sail boat navigation rules and bombed that part.
It is a good little test. Theres a whole lot more to it than just knowing how to not crash a boat.

Took this probably 15 years ago, but I remember it being a lot more difficult than I anticipated.

When I did mine for Louisiana it took a couple of days just to click through the course. Passed the test with all 16 or 17 years of boating wisdom I had at the time.

Our company makes all field technicians take the online course, so I also took it. As has been posted, it covers a lot more info than just how to drive a bass boat (and I had been driving boats a lot longer than you had when you took it).
