Looking at that picture, you're going to need to drive it more than 3 or 4 feet in the ground if you want it to stand up to summer thunderstorms and hurricanes. That pine tree shown has a tap root on it that goes pretty damn deep, plus it it flexible to absorb some bending. Since you said you have no tree to use, I would assume your in a fairly open area, so the wind will be a factor you better consider. The tree shown looks to be greater than a foot in diameter. Looks like the roof of the top section is probably close to about 18 feet above ground.
