OP has been listening to election talk. Wants to end up in the same place as folks who started out with kayaks.

Head to the Chimes in Covington. They have a canoe/kayak rental place on the Bouge Falaya. Grab some dinner and a beer when you return.

Wood Kayak Kits

My winter project this year is to build one. Looking forward to spending time in the shop and away from the TV.

Marsh and Bayou has a nice selection of kayaks. Massey’s had cut their inventory in half.

Have you tried out the new Jackson pedal drive? Heard they retooled it and its supposed to be nice.

*I haven't had a chance to get on one but have been looking at the Bite pedal

He fishes out of a Jackson, I was just trolling him. I don’t have a problem with them!

Haha funny. The flex e drives on the FD’s are nice. Mine pushes over 4.5mph on 24v and it’s half the cost of a torqueedo

Yes the new upper drive is very smooth and way easier to peddle than the original. If you hooked up the original to the lower drive and tried turning the peddles by hand out of the water they would turn easily but stop once you let go. The new drive will continue to turn the lower drive for a few seconds after you stop turning. Hope that helps. Oh and if you do decide to buy an FD look at the flex E drives. They are very nice and quiet. Mine runs wide open all day on one charge.
