Salmon and I, along with a couple other gents, went yak fishing today at an oxbow off the Red River and did pretty well. Best 5 bass went 20.2. We lucked into some slabs while bass fishing and ended up with 6 dandies. We released everything over 3 lbs. Here is what I brought home:

You boys are in my neck of the woods.

If you ever get a hankering to try sailing let me know. Got a boat on Cross Lake we can take out any time. You can even hang a line off the back and troll if you like. lol

Details? I've tried Caddo, Wallace, and the river for white perch and haven't had much success in the last week or so.

Eta: General color and depth? Not your exact gps location unless you want to...

Caught several of the slabs on watermelon/orange fleck baby brush hogs, the rest on black/chart red flake crappie beavers. 6-8' of water. Maybe if we have another NWLA OBGT I'll divulge better location specifics. Can't have lurkers potlicking my spots though...

Bodcau would be a nice kayak body of water. 1/8 white spinnerbait.

Just remember on Dorcheat there's an advisory for eating the fish.

Nice haul Coco

Not pot licking or internet scouting, but do any of your yak fishing areas look remotely good for duck hunting? Trying to expand my hunting horizons in NWLA now that I have that pirogue.

Also wouldn't mind fishing a little with you ERS when I get it up and running. (Live in South S'port E. Kings / Flournoy area)

Its all good man Nice to meet more people from the area. I just got a 2 seater pirogue that I'm bringing back from the dead, looking to get out and fish a little, duck hunt a lot. Might drop it in Bickham Dickson soon for an extremely quick test run, hopefully the trip goes smooth despite the trash out there.

You live right across from the elementary school?

We go paddle around out there everyone in a while. It's smells funny out there
