Kayak fishing in winter

I have the perception sport pescador and I was looking at doing a little bass fishing this weekend and its gonna get chili. Typically, my legs and butt stay pretty wet because I don't have the scupper plugs in.
I'm gonna try the foam golf ball trick for the scuppers but I was wondering if anyone had any stay dry/ stay warm tricks.
It's pretty tough getting in the pescy without at least getting your legs wet.
Also, would it be better in the new Ascend FS12T? I've been thinking of snagging one of those for the high seat, and ability to stand.

I'll be using waders. Don't fall in though!

I soak myself paddling. Yeah, I'm doing it wrong.

I get wet too while paddling.
Paddle drip gaurds that actually work would be awesome. Ive heard of somepeople waxing their paddles to keep some of the water from being picked up by the blade.

I just wear rain pants. The Ascend FS12T will help because the seat is raised and the launch will be easier. That being said, you will still get a little wet from paddling, etc. Rain pants should be all that you need.

I tried Rain-X once. Didn't work worth a damn.

I have some left over never-wet.

I wear some cheap Academy waders to keep my legs and arse dry. Other than that, dress normal.

Been wondering this myself. Waders seems like the obvious choice, but falling in 6' water in waders would be the end of me. Bibs the next logical choice?

I've heard frog togs work good for this too.

Sorry for the hijack, but how/where do you guys store your fish while fishing from a kayak? Do you guys use stringers?

I have same problem. I bought a decent pair of fishing bibs that I use when the temp drops.
janky-I have a collapsible soft sided fish bag that i use to store fish. sometimes a stringer if i'm fishing in area w/o sharks.

Thanks. I am slowly becoming more interested in this kayak fishing idea.

I've used waders or muck boots and a rain suit bib in the winter for sacauperch from the pirogue. Hand warmers in a jacket pocket.

What kind of kayak do you have?
I have this one (see below) and I stuffed a soft ice chest into the front compartment. When it put it in the water, I put some ice in the ice chest. When I catch a fish, I shimmy up to the front and slide him in. I tried a stringer but didn't like it because of (a) the drag when paddling and (b) I fish in a spot with a lot of that spongy marsh grass and the fish get caught up.
