First handgun.

Can anyone recommend some essential accessories I need?

Cleaning kit (oil, solvent, snakes/patches, etc)?

Range items (eye and ear protection, etc.)?

TIA

I purchased the same not too long ago and I have enjoyed it so far.

Have fun and be safe!

ETA:
I use the Otis kit for cleaning, but I have a multiple weapons. Most cleaning kits are fine-it is not required that you spend big bucks on one, just make sure you have a good CLP.

I use inexpensive safety glasses and 3M foam ear plugs at the range.

Not sure if you'll need a laser, depending on what you plan to do with it.

But you don't necessarily have to clean .22s that often since they are precisely that... 22s.

As everyone else said, you're gonna have a lot of fun with that little guy. I heard they are very reliable for 22s so you shouldn't have any issues at all.

I'm not interested in the laser.

Isn't that CLP stuff kind of an oil/solvent in one?

ETA: Any specific recommendations for eye and ear protection?

true about not cleaning too often, but the ammo you use will also play a role. When I built my Ruger 10/22, the guy that made my barrel said to keep the chamber clean but only clean the barrel about every 500 rounds. I am not sure if the same applies to .22 pistols.

For what it is worth, I shoot CCI Mini Mags out of all my .22's. They are reasonably priced and shoot well.

Haha. That did sound bitchy when I re-read it, too. But it wasn't intended that way.

My old man's .22 pistol had about 8000 rounds down the pipe before he ever cleaned the barrel

I was wondering about this. I've read forums with people bitching about Federal and Winchester FTF in the gun. Why don't people just stick with CCI and what not since .22 ammo is so cheap?

Thanks for all the suggestions.

From my reading, the CCI Mini Mags are definitely what I plan to purchase first (and probably most of).

And that's cool to hear about the cleaning. Definitely a plus about the gun.

I love mine and i'm sure you will to.
One bit of friendly advice.
Be extra careful changing the floorplate on the magazines if you put the pinky extension on.
The spring is a bit weird and it difficult to control. I lost the retention piece twice.

Ear: depends on you. I have some high dollar powered ear muff style and I never use them anymore: they are uncomfortable, but that is me.

I use the 3M E.A.R. foam plugs with the cord. Cheap and comfortable.

Eye: Also depends on you. I either wear my sunglasses or some "safety glasses" that you can get from Lowes/Home Depot/Grainger.

I have wasted too much money on "cool" shooting gear only to find that the inexpensive solutions are often just as good, if not better.

I'd fill it up with the cheapest big brand shite I could get my hands on, but that's just me. CCI .22LR ammo has been quite dirty in my experience with it.

This. I did the same thing.

But I like the extended floor plate MUCH better.

I bought a cheap blackhawk size 7 fabric style holster just to have something.

It was cheap, fits the weapon well (with no laser...lol) and has a slip over belt loop instead of a "clip" so it stays in place on the belt.
