Just bought a Beretta Px4 Compact

This is my first handgun, and I was looking to see what the OB has to say about this weapon. I have researched it online, read a great deal of reviews on it, and went to hold it and field dress it at the local pawn shop to see if I liked it.
My two questions are for either Px4 owners, or those who have had hands on experience with it... What would you rate this weapon out of 10, and what is your experience with it? Also, what is the best ammunition to put through it for range shooting?
Thank you to all who answer!

Is that because you don't like it, Cadello? Or do you just not like how loud it is?

Mine isnt the compact...It the regular barrell and it looks badass..just loud as hell...don't have to hit the intruder, the sound will kill him.
And Bama I paid $500 for it ...no way I'm selling it for $75

I went through my Base Exchange store to get it. Their price was $537 because they had to special order it, but I got 10% off on it, so it came out to $480-ish.
I thought about getting the 14-round extended magazine for it, but apparently people have had a lot of trouble loading up those double-stack mags, so I stuck with the 10.
Have you ever had one of those barrel snake cleaning utensils? Not sure exactly what it's called, but it has a weight on one end of the string, then on the other end it expands into a full knit tassel type thing. Then about a quarter of the way down it it has a pipe-cleaner type section, and then more of the knit. Cleaning solvent obviously being put onto the first section, lube on the second behind the bristles, but you supposedly only have to run it through once. Are those actually worth it or is it a frilly "looks cool and easy but it's a ripoff" type deals?

I've used a bore snake on my shotgun and hunting rifle after firing a few shots instead of actually cleaning it...but I've always just run it through without putting any solvent or lube on it. Not sure of that's the same

I rank my Px4 Storm full size 9mm a 10. It has the best, of polymer and SA/DA, both worlds. I am super accurate with mine out to almost 40 yards and can hit a man size target at 60 no problem.
I love my glocks, but I cannot come close to any of this with them.

I have the full size 9mm. The recoil is nonexistent and, as Uneven said, piss accurate. Love my PX4.
And frick the guy at Cabela's when I went to look at them initially. "I only sell 1 or 2 of these a year, you should look at Kimber." frick yourself, old man.
Great purchase. I'd love to get the SC for my CC, just can't afford it right now. You'll love it.

I looked at one last week. I was turned off by the rotating barrel.
This feature is not giving anyone failure to feed issues?

Not at all. Over 400 rounds through it so far, no issues whatsoever. The rotating barrel is intended to reduce recoil.

I have a full size PX4 chambered for .40cal and I love it. Shorter than my full size Beretta 96 Brigadier Inox, and it is more narrow. I actually use it as my concealed carry gun.
Accurate and a lot of fun to shoot. If the compact version shoots anything like the full size you'll like it.
The biggest different between the models is that the PX4 has a rotating barrel assembly while the compact mode does not. But if your gun is a .9mm version it shouldn't recoil to bad as a .9mm round doesn't have a lot of recoil.
