Did they identify the source/cause of the infection post surgery? I'm spitballing here but the mouth is full of bacteria and if one of the sutures opened?

No. Just that they were up from yesterday and I said so that's good or bad?

She said It was signs of infections.

Of course you know all this

They are thinking it is some sort of infection between floor of mouth and neck. Sometimes the 2 try to communicate after a procedure like this and it ain't good.

ask your doc about treating the Thrush your about to get, and with what you had done, he/she probably needs to keep and eye on it.

Heal Up.

Just wanting to know how high because it's a sign of infection, yes, but it can also be a sign of general inflammation.

If it was just mildly elevated then it might mean the worst is behind you.

Wish I could get a glimpse at your chart.

She really didn't say. Just that they were slightly up. But she didn't seem excited about it.

Wish it were that easy. I think OLOL is all EMR now. Not sure how I could access that without actually being in the hospital.

The silver lining of all that convulsing this morning was that after I had the resident in here this morning checking me out at 5, I had finally regained my composure when I asked him if this damn nose trumpet could come out. He said I don't see why not. I had no idea that thing was that long. I feel like a new man with it gone.

Micro prob didnt culture, and if they hit him with pip taz when he rolled in what would you think show up? I bet the antibiotics were flowing before micro guys got off the inner webs to go to work.

Hang in there Josey, Take your pain meds and pics of any hot nurses.

I posted pretty much the same thing a few posts ago.

Standard precautions when someone comes in with high fever. You're not gonna wait to culture before starting abx in suspected sepsis.

Not the feeding tube. They had a nose trumpet in the other nostril.

The feeding tube is still in my nose

I'm off the pain meds and nice little blonde nurse is back today. She is good at her job and cares. I had her one day last week.

You mean one of these?

Never heard it called a nose trumpet before. Always called it an NPA.

But yeah, if you were sitting up talking then there's no reason to have that thing in.
