My bronco wasn't the most economical machine, it had the 351 Windsor in it on 38 boggers. It's sitting behind my parents house right now.

done, but to get back on subject, when I launch by myself I usually just tie to the trailer get out and walk the boat around and tie off out of the way.

Thank you for this thread. I'm about to buy a boat and there was some good information in it. I haven't boated in a long time and will be back to novice status.

I was planning on using rarely used ramps to start out with just for this reason. I figure it will take a few practice attempts to get a routine down.

This, I own an old boat that is older than me (dad gave it to me, roughly 40 yrs old) with the original outboard, I'd be damn to let some of you power guys back that thing off the trailer. I have no problem driving it a bit on the trailer. Even when someone is with me, you are walking with a rope. We, or if im by myself, take maybe 2 minutes to launch, park, and leave the dock. There is no need to be in the way.

Don't be like this clown I saw leave his 250hp bass boat tied up to the dock, the current had his boat blocking most of the launch tied up to the dock. Luckily mine isn't huge, so I got around.

I do love watching idiots though

My energy would be devoted to the South La habit of coming off plane. I get that way more than launch issues.

Not reading this whole thread, but if it went well it should be added to the OB guide

With the exception of a page or two highjack it went well. Started as boat launch but opened it up to all boating. Waiting on someone to go off about people plowing the water when they pass people fishing instead of staying on plane or idling

Don't come off plane to pass someone fishing unless the area is so small/narrow as to cause a hazard. Keep your boat on plane to cause as little disturbance as possible. Coming down causes two areas of max wake.

If you do come down, come ALL THE WAY DOWN. No idea how many times guys slow to barely off plane causing 4' seas the entire way.

This can't be stressed enough!
I hate when people do that! It seems so elementary but people do it all the time!

Some people are conditioned to be mad at fast boats for no reason they can articulate. Probably because Pow Pow yelled at some dude when they were little.

I find myself wrestling with the idea internally. Running 45mph on plane and come across a boat I just know they are cussing me but inside I just think its better for them and they just dont know it.
