Good luck to the OB today.

Be safe out there while the weather comes through.

Storms passed through in middle of the night.
Very windy
Oak bottom between two cutovers that has some wind protection.

Realistically my expectations aren’t very high but it’s the last day I can hunt and I wasn’t about to sit home with the family out of town.

Had a nice shooter 8 point cruise through. Could see him coming and I was set up and he would not stop where I could shoot. He also wasn’t slowly walking and I’m in some thick timber with limited openings

So frustrating. Maybe he will pass through again

REB JR just had a spike walk right by him. He said he didn’t even pick up his gun. He’s got more patience than most 14 year olds.

He sent me this one a little while ago. The message said “feet up” ha. Cell service is dicey where he’s at so might be tough to post.

Just saw a real nice & older blackbuck. May go back later today and stalk it. Anybody ever eaten blackbuck before?

Left the stand right before that leading edge came in.

Eggs, sausage, coffee.

Back out in a bit.

Yes, I killed 2 yearling blackbucks a few years ago (escapees from a high fence down the road) even though I had heard how good the meat was, I was unimpressed, very tough even though they were young, kill em and grind it up

Ran my errands during the storm this morning. Got the cows fed and hay-ed. Climbed in the stand at 10:30 gonna sit the rest of the day. Packed groceries, coffee, two backup battery chargers and s few beers in the bottom of the ice chest.

Had a mature 10 on camera here Monday morning. I was 400 yards away in a ground blind. Sat here that evening and saw 4 does and a mature 7pt chasing one around. Why couldn’t the 10 have been a few hours later.
