Hunting the same spot as yesterday evening. In my saddle in this hardwood funnel. My camera is about 100 yards down. Stopped the 4 wheeler on the ride in to put on a hoody, checked my phone and had a picture of a doe running. Tactacam was nice enough to send the video but it didn’t show anything behind her. Snuck in real quiet, and about 5 minutes after being set up I got another picture of a doe. Could be going down in here this morning.
Good luck!

Main problem is I've been getting lazy

Will be doing a bunch of squirrel hunting around the house for sure. Just burnt out on driving every weekend in addition to my commute. I don't like to pressure the few private spots I have permission on around the house since they're so small, already hunted them a good bit this year.

Not much movement. Did hear a shot in the distance earlier.
Everyone saying the same thing I’m seeing on here. Next couple days should be good. Will be back this weekend

I'm heading up to the north MS the weekend of the 4th. I'll have my nephews though, so I'll just be helping them get some deer.

I had 4 deer running through the thick stuff earlier, couldn’t see if any had horns. Then had a big 6 on a doe. He’s not what I’m looking for, but at least it’s finally happening!

If I wait until Jan 4th to buy it this year I might not have to buy another one until October 2026.

This is good news, I’m headed to The Landmass at the end of the week. Hoping the full moon and plummeting temperatures will get the juices flowing

What is your setup in the saddle to hold your rifle when not in use? How do you stabilize for shot - hold against tree?

I hang it by the sling from my bow holder. Innovating the outdoors makes the one I use, it’s called the runt.
Yeah I’ll stabilize on the tree if I’m lucky enough to have a shot that allows it. If it’s a strong side shot, I’ll grab my carabiner which allows me to prop on my forearm. Anything else, I’m free handing it.

Back at it. Got down around 10, adjusted my setup to put me closer to the trails and rubs in the thick stuff, then went to the truck for a snack. Got back out here, parked the 4 wheeler, stomach cramped up. Handled business, was putting my TP back in my pack, looked over and a doe was standing maybe 30 yards from me. She trotted towards me to about 10 yards before turning. I scrambled for my rifle and was waiting for a buck to come but none ever did. Then eased my way in to my tree.
I made a makeshift scent drag with 2 of those disposable wicks tied to my hoist rope with tinks 69 on them. Maybe one will follow it to me.

I ate a bunch of deer sausage at lunch and my belly cramped 20 ft up a pine tree.
I just had to let it fly from 20 ft up off the side of this Summit climber.
Sounded like a dam sack of taters when it hit the forest floor
