We have one that looks almost identical to that I’ve been hunting as a cull. Passed him a few times to let my boy shoot him but he’s been hard to find lately

Buddy's dad killed a goodun this eve. He had to miss last season due to heart surgery, and this is his best to date. He's pumped, and I'm pumped for him! Bout to get into the bottle of Turkey.

Been taking a buddy of mine with me all yr trying to get him his first buck. At 5:30 i hear him pop off. He text and said big buck. I went over and we looked for blood for 2 hrs. couldnt find anything. He was hunting a powerline and a buck came out chasing a doe. He said it was about to go into the woods and he shot, it jumped and turned and ran back across to the other side of powerline through the woods. Going to go back tomo and stomp the woods looking, there is a small stream that is 50yds away, gone walk it and hopefully find him laid up.Just frustrated found zero blood... but the way he told the story makes me think it was hit, but idk. Just going by what he said.

I did not fire a shot at a duck - bird watchers cock blocked me

But I got a limit of snipes and mud bats

Our crew in north la hammered them.

May or may not have suffered a season ending foot injury.....

Good luck searching. Get in a bad bind, and if it's a good enough deer, I may be able to bring the dog. Post up if ya need help.

appreciate the offer. Im not goinf to bother anyone with a dog unless i find blood. This is all new to him, he was extremely excited/nervous so i am not sure he hit it. I made him tell me the story several times, and the jumping and spinning to run the other direction makes me feel like he did. Just sucks i couldnt find blood. And i know there isnt always blood, but it sure makes it alot easier. He said he let a 5pt walk, then a doe came out and big buck was behind her with nose down. He picked up his head and it was wider than the ears and tall. That he woulda mounted it... again, this is the first buck he has ever seen hunting so who knows. Super good guy, and good friend. Sure hope we stumble on something tomo.

Are you hunting your land or someone else’s? We hunt the same area and may be your hunting neighbor. We are north of the 98 bridge both sides of the river

Do y’all have the big 6 and 7pt genetics there as well? Last year the guys that had this place killed 2 7pts that were 210lbs+. Been like that since I started hunting this place 10 years ago. Everyone’s 8pt or better rule has gotten every 8-10 pt that’s 2 or 3 years old killed while these 6s and 7s mature and breed

That cliff got two guys I knew from NO

One I played little league ball with - was always nuts

Both wheel chair bound after - 1 committed suicide bout 3 years after the other died of pneumonia about 10 years after

Both were drunk or stoned when they dove

Mid 80s same summer

yea no one jumps anymore. Its not near as deep there. people rarely float now since they shut down the drinking on the river. I was a teen in the 90s and we floated that thing almost every weekend. Saw countless people jump, also saw several who had to be air lifted.
