Also, you will have people tell you that you need to buy expensive lump, but I have no problem with RO for $8.
Get you some good fruit wood for smoking.
The egg doesn't make much ash, so you don't need to clean it often, but I use just a wet/dry vac and suck it out when I do.
When you really get into using it and learn more about it, then you can get you a Pswoo or raised grid. Even a spider to do wok cooks.
It cooks literally anything and most times better than anything else.

Get a MAP torch for Home Depot to light your lump. It takes two minutes to light and you are good to go.

It's the best investment you and the SO have ever made.
Get plenty of sugar maple and jack Daniels chips for smoking: JD for beef and maple for poultry, pork and salmon.
Damn best smoked wings you will ever have.
Recipe:
One bottle of soy sauce
One to two cups of Texas Pete hot sauce
Tabasco or Crystal - probably twelve to fifteen shakes
The juice of one lemon
Water to cover
In a huge bow put all ingredients and some water. Add wings. Then add enough water to cover. Stir to mix everything.
Soak at least four hours if you can eight hours. Remove wings and drain. Discard liquid.
Shake plenty of Green Egg Seasoning onto wings.
Use soaking wet sugar maple chips.
Place wings on grill and add a little more dry seasoning.
Cook at 250 to 300 - low and slow and let them absorb the smoke. Check them after ten minutes, if they are browning then roll them over and go another five to ten checking them frequently. They get a beautiful brown glaze.
If you start now you'll be a pro by the Wisconsin game.
Good luck

The best thing it does is smoke meats.

It will cook a pizza really good also. I like to pick up a Papa Murphy pizza, get the grill hot (cook the pizza on a pizza stone) and throw it on about 6 minutes...

You need a dual probe thermometer. You would be surprised at the what the heat is at the meat. It was something like at 15 degree difference from the top thermometer.

So what is the best priced quality ceramic grill? Not best quality but bang for your buck... and where can it be got for a reasonable price? It's about time for me to get rid of my old weber and make the move to ceramic.

Should have asked this question about 2 months ago. I have been known to have access to grills, but an order has already been placed for this spring. If you are still looking come fall there might be another order then...

Replace the charcoal grate with this
You will have to clean out your fire box more often but your grill will light faster, burn hotter, and won't get clogged with little shite pieces of charcoal.
