Yeah I wouldn't paddle down that canal. Too many places to fish on the lake side. Let us know how it works out.

I have never heard of it. I looked it up online and it appears to be in Marrero. Looks like I will be making a trip across the river this week.

Dan can you give me directions to the wall from Veterans and Loyola if I'm heading west. I went back there as a kid, but dont remember where we parked. Thanks.

Stay straight on Vets past the Loyola exit. You will hit a canal that you need to cross but just stay straight and you will run into the wall. Take a right at the wall and it will bring you under I-10.

I love the area because it is the most secluded place to go close to the city and actually be able to catch bass in my opinion. I really enjoy it back there.

I would put it at number 5.... as for spots 1-4....

2 in orleans parish.....

I have caught a large number of bass in the Spillway as well. If you take the first right, shell road, coming from N.O. and drive almost to the train tracks there is a boat launch off to the right of the levee. Get off there and launch. Go striaght down the canal until you ht a second canal and start fishing. I have not caught any big fish there but I have had trips where I caught in excess of 30 bass in a day.

On the WB? I have seen it numerous times but never fished it. I guess I should give it a try when it warms up.

I've never heard of anyone having an "encounter" with a gator while yakking.
