I caught some really good fish Saturday Carolina rigging an Ol Monster 10.5” red bug worm in 14’-25’ deep. Caught most of my big fish 8:40-9:15am. Going to hit those same ledges and drop offs around points tomorrow morning. Love a Carolina rig this time of the year in deep water. You can cover much more water than people think. All I’m doing is dragging that big worm on a 3’-4’ leader behind a 3/4oz sinker

Y’all ain’t beating banks too hard, are y’all? I know it’s hard for a lot of folk but as soon as that suns been out an hour and a half, move to deeper water. You can still catch them shallow if you have good cover, suspended vegetation, tree tops and docks.

About 4 year ago I really committed to learning how and building confidence in “offshore” bass fishing in the summer. I’ve caught really good quality fish consistently.

Also post spawn, from late April to June one of my favorite baits to fish is a fluke. You’ll catch a lot of dinks but catch some good ones too. It’s better than catching little to nothing. I tell y’all what, those 5” Googan Darts have impressed me. I’ve started using those more than zoom Flukes recently. They dart through the water a little better and will stay down. The tails have great action. The spayed lettuce and watermelon red are outstanding

A few years ago, I won a guided bass fishing trip on a lake in Georgia. I called the guide and was worried about the timing (mid July). He assured me we'd fill a cooler.

What we did was very close to off shore bottom fishing. We'd run to a spot, looking for fish on the screen, if he saw them, we'd throw Carolina rigs or dropshots until the bite stopped. First time I ever threw a Carolina rig or a dropshot. You can definitely cover the area quickly and if the bite was good, he'd switch me to the dropshot. When the bite slowed, we'd run to the next spot. We had over 30 in the live well by the end of the day after culling a bunch of dinks all day too. I don't have a bass boat or electronics to replicate it, but the guide said he could catch them all year long. I believe him.

Didn’t get to fish this morning but as of right now, 3:30pm Thursday, I’m about to step on boat and to some of my +14’ holes, ledges and offshore structure. Going to C Rig an Ol Monster and magnum trick worm until 6:45 or so then work my way in throwing a fluke and the last half hour chunk a toad on some grass

I'm a Texas guy. But I'm visiting a friend in Wisconsin now and we are stroking the bass. Going back to Geneva tomorrow where we caught about 15 today in a half day. These lakes are great!
