lol. I ain’t cut out for guiding. I’m terrible at all aspects of fishing. I enjoy rod and reel fishing way more than bowfishing but I have been a few times. I just think worrying about bowfishing tearing up the marsh is a fools errand when there is a much bigger issue. Like exponentially bigger issue. We chose to build levees a long time ago. I seriously doubt they fully understood the ramifications of that. We have chosen to keep the levees and live with the consequences.
In my admittedly non scientific opinion a ban on bowfishing or airboats/surface drives will have negligible effects on marsh deterioration.

Why should we not worry about all issues that cause harm to the marsh?

Because unless you fix the one, none of the others ultimately matter.
It’s like bleeding the break fluid on a vehicle and replacing it, but the engine needs to be replaced and you aren’t willing to do it.
This is all just my opinion and it’s not a terribly popular one. The state and landowners will do whatever they are going to do. We have a habit of enacting half measures in this state in an attempt to placate both sides of an issue. Banning bowfishing alone due to marsh degradation isn’t even half measure IMO.

Man, you're certainly entitled to your opinion, but this makes absolutely zero sense. The problem is habitat degradation and marsh destruction. We should be concerned about all causes that contribute to habitat degradation and marsh destruction. Taking any contrary position is just willful ignorance, which is fine, but call a spade a spade.

How is cutting a trail in the mud messing up the marsh?
I missed this and it was already kind of addressed, but tidal flow. There are cuts into Stump Lagoon that started as 2' wide ditches years ago that are now wide enough for two boats to pass each other. Every major tidal event widens and deepens them more, and destroys more land.
