Been looking for a new pair of boots. Hunt Missouri mostly. I have Lacrosse Grange for early season and a pair of Mucks that are more insulated(they are not the Wood Max). Was looking for a new pair and damn , 240.00 for some of these rubber insulated boots. If I'm gonna spend that I might as well get a good pair of insulated leather ones that will last. Any recs. I'm not really wanting to spend Crispi/Kenetrek type $$$

Irish Setters will run around $200.
Wolverine will run about half that price.
I upland hunt in leather lace ups, but prefer a knee boot if there is any chance of mud/water.

They aren’t leather but rubber and some kind of goretex liner thing. I’ve been really pleased with my lacrosse atlas boots.

I bought a pair of Danner Pronghorns with 400 g of insulation last year. Wore them for a week in NW Missouri in December and was fine. I use Darn Tough socks with them. They're pretty comfortable to walk in as well.

I have some Schnees that are the best (and probably most expensive) shoes that I own.

It’s a big initial investment, but the Crispi Nevadas have been as advertised for me. You could probably find a pair of lightly used ones if you look hard enough.

I bought the Cabelas treadfast gore-Tex insulated boots yesterday for my Missouri and Oklahoma trip next month. They were $179 before tax. I always wear rubber boots but I never need them up there because it’s typically pretty dry. I liked that I could get them in a “wide” size because my foot is wider. I tried on the Irish setters and they were squeezing the hell out of my feet with regular socks on.
