Is this place full of stumps? Are there marked lanes?
Probably 40% of it is a stump field, with clearly marked boat lanes.
Easier to navigate than catch fish.

Man that looks like near the dam on the left from the dept of Agriculture Park boat launch at Indian Creek. They got a nice deep long point out there. I could be wrong.

I use to hate the chain pike looking things tearing up my Wooden rapala minnow lures. They get bad at times.

It is amazing to be in 10ft deep with bass spawning right on top of a stump in less than a few feet of water.

I wish I lived close enough to make a day trip to TB. I want to make a trip to IC soon but I don't want to drive 2+ hours there and not catch crap.

I am confused. Is this place worth a shite or not. It is sounding similar to chicot.

The only place that is similar to Chicot is the Dead Sea

But they are both very inconsistent and nearly impossible to pattern. I have actually had a few decent days on IC so I have a bit more confidence in mid-January to late March than I would ever have in Chicot.

If you hit IC just right, it's worth a crap. I'm sure there are people that know how to fish it year round just like anywhere else, but for average people just making a trip there, you have to hit it PERFECT. If the timing is off, you might catch a few but it's not like hitting the spillway on a bad day and still being able to catch fish if you put in enough time looking around. If that makes sense....

I've done good there once lol. I know people who have done good there a few times. If you don't hit it right, yeah it sucks. I live around BR so the spillway is closer and more consistent for me.

The spillway is high so I was looking for a level body lake. I was thinking Millers, chicot or Indian creek.

ETA: it does interest me because it is like a little Toledo Bend as far as using electronics.

IC can be a pain to fish and other times you look like Bill Dance.

It is a deepwater fishing type lake except a few times a year.

I hate those chain pickeral which tear up my rapala minnows. They must think $6.99 grows on trees. I started throwing rebel minnows instead.

A very stumpy lake in crystal springs ms. Produces giant bass every year. You will need electronics to fish points and drop offs. Pretty badass lake.

For a first timer, it would suck large. It's nothing like chicot.

MS? I am looking for a one day lake an hour or so from Lafayette. Any further than that and I may as well run to Toledo.

IC sucks just like most of the lakes around here. I just make the hour 20 minute trip to the Bend rather than waste time in our crappy Cenla fisheries!
