The .22 idea posted previously is a good one. Whatever pistol you purchase you should purchase one that can be dry fired without negative consequences like the glock. When you buy it if you plan to train yourself watch as many YouTube videos of good shooters as you can to learn your grip and after you have mastered the grip dry fire it every night to learn the triggers breaking point and where the reset is and make sure your sights never move. When you feel you have mastered this do it another thousand times before going to the range for live fire. Dry fire at your tv every night while watching tv.

You would not believe how poorly most people shoot pistols and dry firing first would have solved the vast majority of most of these shooters problems.

Well my brother's g/f who has about as much experience with pistols and myself did a damn good job on her first attempt
