If you could own only 5 guns...

General question. You could only own five. For fun, for hunting, for conceal carry, etc.
How about I get it started.
Glock 19
12 guage pump shotgun
ruger 10-22
ar-15
I think the 19 is a safe first gun, if you could only have one.
The 12 guage pump might be next. Obviously for home defense, but not conceal carry!
The ruger 10-22 is a classic. Great fun rifle to shoot. Varmint control, small game hunt, it does it all. Plus it has tons of accessories.
The next I guess is the AR-15. I don't have this one, but what the hell. Seems to make just about everyones list, so I am going with that.
My fifth gun happens to be one I love to shoot. A sig mosquito. I know most would likely say the ruger mark II/III or the browning buckmark. But I got the mosquito because it is similar in size and controls of a 9 mmm. So, I'm going with the mosquito.
What do the experts say?

first thing that would happen is I would be crying my eyes out
But after I dried my eyes, my list would look very similar to yours
Kahr CM9 for Concealed carry
1911 for home defense
870 pump for duck and squirrel hunting
AR 15 for severe social situations and pig hunting
30/06 or 7 mag bolt action for deer and sasquatch hunting
That would about cover it.
Now if you wanted to extend to 7 guns, I would add a 22 pistol and 22 rifle to the mix.

Thing is just too sexy not to put in my final gun cabinet.

Looking for a specific list. Makes, models, and might as well throw reasons in there...

I am not really a brand snob. I have a couple of Savage models I like as well as a browning A bolt.
But..
.375 CZ 550
.338 Savage 116FSS
.22 10/22
12 ga 870
.50 S&W

Hmmpf. You’re making this VERY difficult.
OK -- here’s my dream list:
Rifles:
-- Kimber M82 (.22 WMR)
-- Pre-64 Winchester M70 (.30-06)
Handguns
-- Colt Series 70 Stainless Combat Commander (.45 ACP)
-- Ruger Mk I (.22LR)
Shotgun
-- Browning A5 (12 gauge)
Only five:

If I had a sixth, just for fun I would go with a .338 Lapua.

I think the key here (assuming this is a SHTF type situation) is the knowledge you have about each gun. A super high tech tacticool gun is useless if you can't break it down and fix any mishaps.

Simplicity, durability (particularly in adverse weather) and accuracy are pretty much my criteria in choosing brand and design.
