Gentlemen, I have arrived. Lake Bistineau camp on 2.5 acres. 34 minutes from the front door of my house.

My next door neighbor bought this camp about 5 years ago with the intentions of fixing it up. He hadn't been there in over a year. Friday night drinking beer by a fire in my backyard he tells me he is thinking about selling it. We drove out there Saturday morning, gave it a look and I told him I'd take it!

Mind you it's rough, but it's a hell of a starter camp for me. I think a couple of weekends cleaning it up inside and out, burning the rotten deck, hauling off old stoves and hot water heaters laying around in the yard will really bring out the charm. It's got good bones. Cedar siding and a metal roof. Finish the interior as I go.

It's less than you think. He told me what he had in it and had to have out of it. I went to bank and got a cashiers check and gave it to him first thing this morning. I want to make sure everything goes through before I start posting how much I paid. Lets just say this, we valued the camp at $0. I paid for the 2.5 acre lot same as he did to the lady that sold it to him.

Is the Billy Bass included? If so, it was a steal no matter what the price! Congrats Clyde

Sweet playpen!!
Will be a fun project.
Had you been seriously looking? I would love to have something similar, I just feel like 30 min away is kinda close. I go back and forth on what the right distance away from home would be.

Perfect timing too with spring and summer right around the corner.

I forgot to mention the dock...

Looks like a great place to drink beer. It also looks like a great place for Mr. no shoulders. Be careful while tearing stuff apart.

Kind of. I was wanting something on Toledo, but it's at least twice the drive (Closer to an hour or more...) and higher demand meaning higher prices.

I just stumbled on this before he even listed it and knew I had to strike while the iron was hot.

I like that it's close. My wife can drive back to town for mass, she goes religiously and often cause stress with weekend plans. Plus, I have a place to go crash if she kicks me out of the house!
