re: How old and what gun did you use on your first deer

I guess I was about 8 years old. Dad saw a doe step out, I dropped my Gameboy, grabbed the M1 Carbine...swing and a miss. Doe ran off, came back through about 5 minutes later, ended up in a briar patch that night.

ETA: That M1 Carbine is also the same gun my dad used to kill his first deer (10 pt. in the early 70's). I have it sitting in the cabinet, hope I can continue the tradition when I have kids.
