I lost my first two, was pretty sick over it and put the bow down for a full season. I recommitted and practiced a lot, was pretty picky with my shots and would take only broadside and quartering away shots. After that my success rate climbed signifcantly...

My bow was immediately moved to pig only usage after my bad shot this year. I will be able to shave the beard off a turkey by next season if I practice as much as I plan.

We have lost 2 deer this year out of 26 total on our place and both were shot with rifles. Recovered this one thankfully so the shooter can salvage at least a European mount, the other was a doe shot with a .243 we never found.

That is a great buck. sad to see it will be a euro mount.

I watched this amateur hunting show where the guys were tasked to produce their own hunts. One bowhunter gutshot a buck that was in between quartering and head-on facing him. The next time he went hunting, he shot a doe straight in the middle of the top of it's back.

I don't watch lots of hunting shows, but every now and then I see an arrow that looked like it hit way too far back to me.
And they always say "Great shot!"
I wonder how many dogs and/or teams of trackers have to find some of those deer.

i am 50% with my bow...but only shot a couple. found 2 and lost 2.
with my .270 i am 100%. Have killed over 100 and not one lost.
i have seen some kids lose rifle shot deer that were shot with .243's
