im getting out of my old club (tired of the BS) and have been searching for a new one. i have found one in greensburg that seems to be a good fit. the only problem is that it is an 1:20 drive when i am use to driving 30 minutes to hunt. my old club had 30 members on 650 acres, the new potential club has 75 members on 5800 acres, and each member gets 4 personal stands, the old club only one personal stand. Is it worth the extra driving time?

Hour and twenty isn't shite if they have a camp to stay at. Hell out old camp was a 45 minute car ride then a 45 minute boat ride and we thought that was close.

30 on 650 acres? Did you type that wrong? I bet there was shite going on with that many on that little land. Damn I wouldn't get in a club that had more than 7 members on 650.

Now to your question. You're not looking at that far of a drive really compared to a lot of people. I know some that live on the ms coast and drive several hours to hunt quality land. If the club is good and there is a place to stay then yes get in the new camp!

That is still pretty damn crowded. You need at least 200 acres per man imo. But it's a hell of an upgraded from 30 people on 650 acres.

And I drive about 2 hrs to my camp. Perfect distance from the ole lady.

no its right, but about 50% of them are old men who just come and drink and only make 2-3 hunts a year and the other half of them shoot everything that moves..

The club I'm in is about 20 minutes from my house.
I think it is a 600 acre tract, a 500 acre tract, another couple hundred acre tract, and backs up to the Maurepas WMA, so it is pretty much unlimited land. About 40 members but only about 15 hunt.

I also have a friend who's uncle has a cattle ranch in Shreveport we hunt on. 4 hours from Prairieville. 1500 acre ranch and a 1200 acre one. 4 of us hunt it and maybe 5 or 6 other people who make 2 or 3 hunts a year out there.

I drive 3hrs from Tx to La to deer hunt. We have 8 members on 3500+ acres. Manily do it because I get to hunt with my father this way. That alone makes it worth the drive for me.

If it is somewhere you want to hunt every weekend then my max is around 3hrs. If it is a one week a year type place I know people that drive from Houma to West Texas to go on a week long trip

4 hours. 2300 ac. 8 members.

I would never would to be in a club with a large number of people like that. you cant possibly know everyone well and you cant know whats going on there all the time. its a recipe for shitty hunting.

2 hour drive to Wilkinson county MS. Usually 1 hour 45 when I drive it if I don't catch hell in baton rouge with traffic.

it's really not bad if I drive there from BR. It's just that the last 20 minutes of the ride is a really windy road with no street lights followed by a really long convoluted dirt road. I love hunting there though, even from back home the hour 45 drive doesn't feel that long.
