then trip balls or something.

I tried it a couple years back. Didn't feel anything at all. Was a bit disappointed. Fwiw, a midget native american who also drank some said he didn't feel anything either and got in his spaceship and left.

There were several tribes in the Southeast that made a brew out of it, they called “black drink”. They’d drink it for ceremonial purposes. I guess it’ll make you puke like hell and then trip balls or something. Never tried it myself.
Then they'd love Angel's Trumpet.

Never tried it but know of a kid who rode his bike off the pier while evading the police. They wanted him because he was wearing no clothes and that's straight from the lady who's yard he picked them from.

Yaupon holley not safe for humans

This is not true. Yaupon leaves are awesome for tea. The berries can make you nauseous but won’t harm you (other than puking).

I've got a lot of stuff I know I can eat. I had to really study mushrooms though but I've got that now.

They're pretty basic.

Muscadines, blackberries, pawpaws, persimmons, plums, a few types of mushrooms, and ramps.

I’d have to survive on dewberry and wild onion

I was raised as a teen in the 80s. I view mushrooms and cocaine the same way, try it once and die. They scared us straight in the 80s.

One of my arch professors at UGA described it as having a lot of tobacco in it too, being the main culprit of the ceremonial vomiting, dizziness, and nearly dying from nicotine poisoning while talking to God.

Back in 2020 when the zombie apocalypse loomed large I reassured my family that when the shite got real I could feed us without a lot of difficulty....as long as I had a $40K 4WD truck, a $20K boat and about $20k worth of guns, ammo, fishing tackle and Vienna Sausages to get started until I caught enough fish and killed enough ducks to lay in a store of food....

The power window on the driver's side door went bad about 20 years ago and in the 3 weeks it took me to get the part and time to install it I lost nearly 12 pounds.....I made up for it as soon as the window would roll down

I won't last long without a grocery store or a restaurant....

You definitely gotta be cautious sometimes, especially with mushrooms.

Pat - "Rancid, Grandma says if you see a deer eating a mushroom it is safe to eat"

Rancid Crabtree - "Its a wonder that goldurned old woman has lived to be a 109 years old with all of them silly notions in her head. You eat a mushroom a deer eats and you'll be picking your teeth with one hand and knocking on the pearly gates with the other.....what kind of sammiches did she pack us?".

I think "A Fine and Pleasant Misery" but I may be wrong....gotta love Pat McManus....

If you don't know who Rancid Crabtree is you owe it to yourself to find out....

Then go straight carnivore, all you have to do is make sure the animal or egg is cooked enough.
