The more I read, the more torn I become. Ite appears as though the Rancher & Foreman have damn near the same dimensions, are they now on the same frame? Why not go with the Foreman due to additional HP/CC's if they are similar in overall size?

Don't be dead set on a Honda. All the manufacturers make a great 4 wheeler now. They're all very reliable with the proper maintenance. Just find the best deal with the options you want and get it.

The newer ones (post 2014 I think I was told) don't have issues with electric shift that have been mentioned on here.
Not true. Still a 5v actuated system with non marine grade connections.
Unlike most fan boys on here, in not loyal to any brand and have no issue saying the problems of all.

The difference in weight is not offset by the 55cc increase in engine size.
570 vs 630lbs

Exactly, everyone in this area is dead set on a Honda and I don't know why. Great 4 wheelers but it's not like they're head and shoulders above the rest anymore. People up north hate them because they're crap in the cold weather.

Hate to hijack thread, but I'm in the market for a new one. Options are the King Quad 750 , Grizzly 700 and a Honda Rubicon. Anybody care to give thoughts on these 3? Thanks! BTW. It will be used on a deer lease. Mud and water over floor boards most of the time.

I have a '14 Kingquad 500 with EFI, power steering and rear and front independent suspension. Rides like a Cadillac and no problems yet. The EFI is legit especially when it's really cold. No messing with the joke etc. Just press the start button.

I would skip the grizzly for a special edition Kodiak instead.
You get all of the features of the grizzly , a more aggressive front, better clutching for hunting and working, and save 2k as well.
Powerwise, the Honda is low 30s. The Suzuki is almost 50. And the yamaha is near as makes no difference, 50.
The only weak point of the yamaha is when you hit 1000 hours or 10000 miles, the valve seals typically will start leaking and get some light puffs of smoke at start up.
Most people never get anywhere near that, but it did happen to me on my last one.
Keep your receipts for oil and filters and track your maintenance, yamaha will cover it under warranty. Or, they did for me.
$8 worth of parts and two hours later, and it was like new all over again.
Original brakes, all bearings, seals, boots, all of it except 31s. Not bad for almost 10k miles.

Yep I do like the Kodak also. Wish there was somewhere to go ride and test them. Is the suspension on the Kodiak as comfortable as the Grizzly? I have a Foreman already but I get really sore after riding it. Single axle doesn't have much give.

A little bit more firm. Miles better than the Honda. The Polaris strut bikes ride better than anything.
I'm just not a Polaris fan since the 800 liberty motor was phased out.
That motor was the best off-road engine ever produced with the exception of Hondas trx350d or Hondas atc70 motor. Those three tie for first. Honda then gets the next few spots with their air cooled motors. Engineering works of art.

What about the King quad, any experience with it? I have a local dealer near me. I really like the looks of it but don't know much about them.

King quads are actually good bikes. Fairly proven design at the point.
With a tuner they are animals. Stock they just feel sort of...meh.

What kind of tuner are you talking about. I see where people shim the clutch but I'm not really interested in doing that.

Na. With a retune for premium the power just comes on faster and harder.
No need to do it for a hunting bike.

I opted for the 2013 Foreman manual shift. Deal was too good to pass up and the seller traded for my 2wd Rancher. This is my first bike with true aggressive mud tires and they pull like a champ. I’ll report back on how the Foreman performs.

Just pulled the trigger on an 08 Rancher 420. Foot shift, 4x4. 30 hours. Excellent condition.
