You're the kind of guy I turn all the lights on for when stopped facing you at a redlight.

You want to blind me with crap bulbs, I'm melting your paint off with 4 hid spots and a few hidden LEDs.

ok, champ

I have 35% tint on my windshield so that doesn't do shite to me. Keep blasting away though

OEM reflector housings are not meant for HIDs. You will be scattering light everywhere

If only we had mandatory yearly inspections to prevent this kind of thing from happening...

I've never had anyone check mine. Most places just put the sticker on and wave goodbye. I don't even know where I'd look to find a strict inspector

Kensun from Amazon

Put a set of those on my 2007 Tundra a few years back. The 6000k color is my favorite. Anything higher(7000k or more) seem too "blue" and fake to me. Anything lower seemed too "yellow".

They installed easily and worked flawlessly.

My only concern was they seemed to cause electrical noise or interference in my AM radio channels. I live in the NOLA area and had trouble picking up WWL 870am and 1350am which are the two strongest AM channels in NOLA.

Junk.

All you guys putting this crap in your vehicles, IDK. They are worse than fart pipes.

They look like shite and they perform like shite, but whatever.

Meh, IDC about tint. To each his own, it doesn't affect me.

Putting $39 headlights in your ride, causing scatter and glare on the road, does affect me.
Douche level: Attained.

The best part is that all those guys turn their headlights on an hour before dusk so we all can "see" they bought shitty, $39 headlights.

Well, can you take a crowbar to your headlights first?

Do it from inside your prius so no one can see you through your tinted windshield since it's impervious to headlights apparently.

1. I aimed my reflectors downward and the throw is very manageable. Only people that will have trouble are those with very low cars

2. Mine come on whenever the automatic sensor turns them on, and fogs only come on when it's foggy. Don't throw me in that group, bro

I actually paid someone to split my headlights, do an actual HID projector swap, and paint everything a couple years ago. Vast improvement over the shitty factory halogen setup and way better than the HID bulbs in the stock housing I had before.

I actually just bought another set of lights and split them last week, knowing what I know now some of the prices people are charging to do this could be considered robbery.

You mean opening the housing and then re-sealing after?

I also have a 09 Sierra with daytime running lights. Do the LEDs work with the lower voltage? Or do people install them in the brights and manually turn them on and off?

Absolute Performance in Denver, CO did them, they were about $300 cheaper than a couple other quotes I got.

That is the way to do it.

I did a similar deal on the Vette.

It has a sharp, clear, cutoff line just like factory HIDs. No scatter or glare.

Retrofitted HIDs can be pretty awesome. Cherry picking the best parts and pieces for the sharpest and brightest lights possible looks great.

Agree.

Replacing and/or modifying the housing is key.

I've heard the LED's do the same (the household kind at least), and I bought a few ballasts for my garage flourescents that throw terrible RFI.
