Looked up comfortis. Think I've used it before with him. Might try it again.

You need to treat your yard as well. Your local hard ware store should be able to recommend something.

Be sure to rinse him off really good if you bath him in dawn, he'll scratch but it won't be from the fleas it'll be for dried skin.

Mow your yard and keep it mowed, spray the yard after you mow too.

We use trifexis and it works great.

Go to WALMART and buy Bayer Tree and Shrub then apply a Tablespoon to his shoulders/neck about every two weeks and problem solved both on the dog and the yard.

Be careful of some of the over the counter stuff it can be dangerous as well. Get a comb, as well. Have two dogs currently. One is 10, and got fleas for the first time in his life, down in the keys for Christmas. Felt sorry for the poor guy. It was a royal pain in the arse for over a month.

Shame on you. All you need is Comfortis or trifexis and, as far as the dog, it's over in an hour.

Now the yard, kennel, etc. That needs to be hit and then again in a week or so unless what you spray gets eggs too.

I even used some diatamacious (sp?) earth.

If the dog goes inside, make sure you treat any carpet and upholstery. Use something with an insect growth regulator. Also, vacuum real well then vacuum again two days later. Combined with a good flea med like comforts, a yard treatment and mowing, you should be able to knock them completely out within 7-10 days. After that, just make sure that you give him flea meds regularly and you should't have any more problems.

Confortist. Go get it from your vet. Kills all fleas. It's a pill.

Well two weeks were in the middle of the keys, far away from his vet and not really an ideal place to find stuff at a store. We became totally infested and advantix when we got back didn't rectify the situation immediately. Like I said, never had fleas ever. So not familiar with protocols. Vet informed me about dangers of of over the counter solutions. We were still finding fleas in my pups long hair a month after initial contact, which was two week before we could get a decent solution.

A bath in dawn then do what the others have said. Have your pest treatment guy spray your house. You buy some Telstar and spray your yard.
