Vet Trust antibacterial pet shampoo is what we used to stop the inching infected flea bites that was driving my dog to chew herself crazy. Did it for the first time last night and much improved .
$9 at Wall Mart.

You need to treat your yard as well. Your local hard ware store should be able to recommend something.
We used to spray the yard with dog dip out of a hose end sprayer

You can literally watch the fleas fall off by bathing with dawn..comfortis is the best there is after that

Bath in Dawn, Triflexis and your yard is probably a flea shithouse. You're going to need to have an exterminator treat it and, most likely, your house. Otherwise the fleas will just be gone for a few hours.

A lot of good replies for you in this thread, main thing is treating dog with whatever route you want to take. Then vacuum, vacuum, and vacuum. Flea eggs can be dormant for a really long time, then vibration causes them to hatch. Get some kind of yard treatment, and a monthly for your dog. Triflexis is the best we have used so far and it doubles as a heart worm medicine also.
Good Luck!
