I'll be using it to clean my house once a year and boat and vehicles once a month or so.
My choices for my budget Under $300
1. Harbor Freight for $240, I have a %20 off 1 item coupon.
2. Northern Tool for $250.
3. Honda Powered From Sams model for $300
4. Generac From Sams for $279
5. Simpson from Lowes for $249

If you have any others add please link them.

I bought my last one on clearance from Sears for $99, it ran like a champ for 12 years then all of the sudden the pump quit. If I can get 10 years out of a new one I would be happy.

Just buy a new pump. I have 2 pressure washers. One is a generic/troybilt 2500psi i got while working at Lowe’s in the early 2000s for $25.00. It was “broken” and i offered my boss 25.00ea for 3 of them. It’s got the Honda horizontal motor on it. Changed the pump a few years ago when the discharge hose threads stripped on the original and it still runs like a champ to this day. Changing the pump was 75.00 and took 5 minutes. The new pump is a 3000 psi that fit that motor. They are all essentially the same. Same motors, pumps, etc. the only thing that varies is whether it is a vertical or horizontal shaft motor and the type of pump for that shafted motor.

I thought about that as well, the motor runs like a champ. Its an old school Briggs, where can I buy just the pump?

LINK

I got this one on sale for $79 a while back. Use it to clean eaves around the house and siding on the back. Not as much power as the ones you're looking at, but with the Crud Cutter detergent sprayed on first, it gets the job done around the house for me.

Mine is a Generac and I like it a lot. 3,500 PSI and I believe I paid $350 from Home Depot. I know it's more than your budget but it's really good. I've used it probably 10 times now and I haven't had a single issue with it yet. Changed the oil only once so far.

If you aren't spending the money for a Subaru or a Yamaha, just buy a shitty electric one

Seriously

ETA: I love my electric one. I haven't used the gas one in months

I have a Roybi electric, will never buy another gas power washer, it will clean anything around a typical house that needs cleaning.

Gave mine to the neighbor across the street, i never used it enough to keep the carb working. Pressure washers should go into the Flys, F**** or Floats catagory.
I would rather be on the water fishing than cleaning.

I have a Honda with a Simpson pump and it hasn't failed me in 3 years now.

I'd give a hard pass on Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.

Out of those 5 I'd give number 3 and 4 the most consideration.
