I've always heard the term a "pack of coyotes" and I think I've heard a pack before, but every time I have ever seen a coyote, he has been by himself.

Yes, I frequently see them in packs, but I live in Arizona....

the flat desert terrain makes it pretty easy to see them grouped.

Heard yes seen no. Same as you I have only seen lone dogs. We did have a pack answering our electronic call one night while drinking at my friend's lease.

Yes. Getting down from bow hunting after I successfully shot every arrow I had and missed everytime. I was 14 I think and it was pretty scary at the time. they flew by me when I was about 4 feet off the ground. I climbed a few feet up and sat there for a few minutes before getting down.

I've never seen packs of them together.

Last year I was hunting next to some grown up crawfish ponds and an ambulance passed on a nearby road. I heard at least 10 of them howling from the pond. I wanted to get a bushhog and a couple of shooters and take care of them.

I never see em in packs, but I always hear 5 or 6 of em together late at night. I guess they join up after dark.

The thing about coyotes is that 2-3 of them can easily sounds like 5-6. There is usually much less in the "pack" than you think there is.

Why would you be scared of coyotes? They've killed MAYBE 2 people in the last century....bitten maybe 10. Dogs kill 10 times that much each year...and we feed them.
As far as packing up, only in Cottondale, Alabama did I see a real pack (around 10).
In north Alabama, I hear and see several, but not a 'pack' in the real sense of the word.

nope

But I love listening to a "pack" howl. One of the coolest things to hear in the wild, IMO

I seen a dragon fly. I seen a house fly. I seen a peanut stand, heard a rubber band. I seen a needle that winked its eye. I seen a front porch swing, heard a diamond ring, I seen a polka-dot railroad tie, but I be done seen 'bout ev'rything when I see a coyote pack.

I killed 2 one morning off a deer stand and saw another I couldn't get a shot on, but they wern't really in a pack. They all came out in about the same spot but were an hour or so apart.

I believe there is only 1 confirmed case of an adult ever being killed by coyotes. It was a young woman in Canada not to long ago. There was a show about it on Nat. Geo Chnl.
