My eye doctor told me yesterday that I was a candidate. My vision is bad. My left eye is -10.75 and my right eye is -10.50. I go up to Birmingham on January 15th for Pre-Op.

I will be so thankful not having to get up when I hunt to wear glasses or contacts

I had it done about 15 years ago. Have had zero problems with it. I'm 45 now and will probably have to start wearing reading glasses in the next few years. My doctor told me when I had it done it may accelerate the need for reading glasses but I don't need them yet. It's nice to be able to just buy a regular pair of sunglasses.

Had mine done by Dr William Mitchell in Huntsville AL.

Best money I ever spent. Had better than 20/20 for over a decade. Sitting behind desk staring at a computer has taken its toll. I'd do it again if I could.

One of the best decisions I've ever made. I had my eyes done about ten years ago. They did say I would probably have to come back at some point and have the procedure done again later in life. Funny thing is is that I didn't even know they had started so I asked and they were finished. Drove myself back the next day for the post op examine and had 20/15 vision.

I am 35 now and I am very ready to get it done.

It is not being able to see far away. I am nearsighted

I had it done 5 years ago. Like others have said, best money ever spent. My vision was 20/200 before and 20/15 after.

I had mine done 16yrs ago next month.

Best money I've ever spent. I was 20/15 for 12yrs but I have developed a slight astigmatism. I'm still 20/20 but with my glasses I'm back to 20/15. Yes, that's better than "perfect"

I only wear the glasses at night when driving.

My wife had it done 10ish years ago. She actually had epi-lasik on one eye but had issues after the surgery. She's fine now but it took about 3-4 months before she was ok. Part of it was the medicine they gave her. She had lasik on the other eye and adjusted her medicine and had zero issues.

Oh, I went duck hunting 3 or 4 days after my surgery. 1st hunt with "new" eyes was a wonderful experience.

I did the surgery because: 1. I was pretty bad, like 20/700 (like you) and 2. I had been wearing contacts for 14 years. I thought that was enough.

It's crazy the things you notice after having it done. I remember thinking how clear I could see the individual little twigs on tree limbs at a distance where before it was just a blur.

I couldn't even see my alarm clock beside my bed. It was one with the big numbers.

Oh, the most amazing thing to me was they told me to go home and lay down and take a nap. I really couldn't see immediately after the surgery. Eyes felt like they had sand in them.

Woke up and I could see. Walked downstairs and told my wife I could actually see. Amazing thing.

And Like highcotton said. I will need reading glasses as well. Don't need them yet but I can tell it's coming....

Exactly. I didn’t know it was possible to see individual leaves on a tree.

Damn you’re blind baw. I was -5.50 and -6.0 before lasik and couldnt see shite without contacts. Had it done about 2 years ago and had 20/10 vision last visit to the eye doc a few months after the surgery. Best $2k ever spent

Had it about 8-9 years ago. Greatest decision ever.

My sight went from reallllly bad to 20/20 or better in both eyes

One eye was 20/65 and the other was like 20/130. Of something like that.

Had it done 30 years ago, I am now at the point of needing reading glasses when it’s dim.

Your going to love it, remember the days of the glasses slipping and fogging up when doing strenuous things. Gone

I'm in the same boat. I need to get it done this coming year. I just keep putting it off. Without my contacts, I cant read a large digit alarm clock unless its touching my nose.
